Homeowners haunted by drywall from China

Toxic drywall is haunting hundreds of homeowners and apartment dwellers. American construction companies used the drywall from China because it was plentiful and cheap, mainly during the U. S. housing boom when building materials were in short supply. The drywall is believed to give off fumes that corrode copper pipes, blacken jewelry and silverware, and possibly sicken people.
