Beware of toxic mold with Connecticut rains

The wet weather in Connecticut increases the chance of toxic mold growth. According to Gene Burch of RTK Environmental Group, water from the wet ground tends to leak into homes through cracks, spouts and other openings. Basements are flooding and humidity is building up. Old and new homes are having problems. New homes are constructed to be air-tight, so if any moisture does get in, it doesn’t have anywhere to go and the house can’t breathe.
